“Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled.” Luke 14:23
As an Art Director/Associate Director of Communications, I draw on 20 years of education, professional, and management experience in the video production industry and Christian broadcasting to navigate the complexities of internal and external church communications. [Sure sounds impressive, doesn't it? ] My areas of influence and hands-on activity include, but are not limited to, ministry marketing, advertising, graphic design, video production, writing, and serving with teams who strive to rise above the noise, maximize the worship experience, and connect people to Jesus.
What’s “Christianjava” all about?
Glad you asked. Coffee is an all-day, any-time-of-day, caffeine-packed booster, a pick-me-up, an eye-opening experience, and a common ground [sorry, bad pun] all at once.
Coffee isn’t as much a global commodity as it means being part of a community. The coffee may be really stellar at your local coffeehouse, but the real appeal is in the environmental experience. My mission as a ‘communicator’ is to help move the Church from ‘commodity’ to ‘community.’
About 15 years ago, I had a dream to open a Christian coffeehouse here in Dallas. A place where anyone could come enjoy some really great coffee, hear some killer live music, and maybe even begin a relationship with Jesus. But as a lot of dreams do, it fell to the wayside when Starbucks began taking over the world. But the “christianjava” name has remained my Yahoo email address. Who knows? Maybe there’ll come a day and occasion to resurrect the dream, “hang a shingle,” bring in some great bands, and brew some joe.
Let’s have coffee: christianjava@yahoo.com.
